Raymond Threlfall ‘Speedy’

Peacefully in hospital surrounded by his loving family on 22nd April 2016.  Raymond aged 74 years of Clayton-le-Moors.  The devoted husband of the late Mildred, much loved dad, step-dad, father-in-law, cherished grandad and great-grandad, a dear brother, brother-in-law and good friend to many.

Ray worked as a scrap metal merchant in the family scrap metal business until he took early retirement due to ill health.  He had a static caravan in Morecambe for many years and loved to get away to escape and enjoy the peace and quiet.  Ray was a well known local face and became known locally as ‘Speedy’ due to his motobility scooter as he could often be seen whizzing around Clayton.  He was also a keen photographer.  Ray was always doing kind deeds for others and was a very kind gentleman.
