Philip Shears (Phil)

Peacefully at East Lancashire Hospice with his beloved wife by his side on 11th September 2019 Phil aged 58 years of Great Harwood. The devoted and much loved husband of Dorothy, loving dad of David, Jonathan and Samantha, cherished grandad of Dylan, Finley and Lochlan, dear son of Jean, brother of Elaine and Katherine and a well respected relative and friend to many.

Phil spent his working life for over thirty eight years at ICI / Johnson Matthey Clitheroe as a electrical engineer, he was a well respected and popular member of the working team and made many good friends. A DIY enthusiast Phil always kept his home in pristine condition and could turn his hand to any job that needing completing, he loved steam trains and was looking forward to starting his retirement dream of building his very own model railway. Phil loved photography and had an impressive collection of over thirty cameras. A true family man Phil was at his happiest when at his home surrounded by his family listening to music and eating one of Dorothy’s legendary raspberry buns.
