Kevin and Elma O’Brien and Family

I met Chip about 50 years ago while playing football for Peel Park. We’ve ran together and i walked sections of his Lands End to John O Groats walk. He was always there for me when i was running the Calderdale Way relays to show me the routes. Over the years we have had many laughs and he has been a great friend who i will sadly miss. Thinking of Laraine and family at this very sad time.

Philip, even on such a sad occasion as this I can’t help but smile when I think about you. You had such a wonderful sense of humour and could turn any situation into laughter. You are going to be so very missed by so many people but none more than your lovely wife, my beautiful friend Laraine. You two truly did make a whole and it was always such a gift to be around you both. Thank you Philip for all the memories. Rest peacefully I will look after Laraine of that you can be sure.

Roy Edmondson

Well done to all Philip’s family for giving him such a good send off today in Waddington. He will be much missed. The members of West Bradford Gym Club have asked me to send their condolences, his sense of humour at our sessions will never be replaced. XXX
