At home on 22nd January 2026, Pete, aged 88 years, passed peacefully with family by his side. A devoted and much-loved husband to Sandra, a loving Father, dear Father-in-law, a cherished Grandad, a treasured Great-Grandad, a dear Brother to Anne and a much-loved relative and friend to many.
Born in Accrington, Pete worked various roles before ending his working career running his own garage, enjoying working on the cars that came through his door. Pete had a love for cars, especially American models with the Lincoln Continental being his favourite. In his spare time he enjoyed watching Formula 1, reading, teaching and researching new subjects, especially history, and would find joy in passing along his knowledge to others. It was often a running joke that Pete was the man who always had the heating on, was King of the remote and had more tools than Screwfix!
Above all else, Pete was a devoted family man. He adored his children, and he took great joy in hearing about the lives and adventures of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A kind and generous man he would always put his family first and worked hard to provide for them.
He will be sadly missed but remembered with love, always.

Came to see you yesterday dad, starting to sink in now that your no longer with us but I want you to know that you can rest easy up there now knowing we will all look after mum for you, will miss and love you every day p.s say hi to grandma and grandad for me love Jonathan xx

Such sad news, I hope you’re at peace now & have a TV waiting for you up there. I will always appreciate you taking us on as your own when your son (Andrew) did. You were a wonderful man and you will be sadly missed by everyone, RIP.

A special friend we had in you Pete, you will forever be in our hearts and thoughts. Your memory will forever live on in all of us, it is with a heavy heart we will miss you so very much but we know that you are in the wings of the angels looking down with a your smile and at peace. My amazing Dad, I really thought you’d live forever. Oh how I wish you could have but even forever wouldn’t have been long enough. We are, and always will be missing you soo much. The boys are keeping me going and I know you are so proud of them. They will always remember their very special Grandad, and you’ll live on through them. Keep us safe Dad. We love you endlessly, always.

Just been scrolling through family pics like you do znd we are so sorry to come across the sadest news of uncle Peter. RIP.
