Peggy May Crook

Loving family lady

On 29th May 2018 peacefully in a private care home, Peggy aged 96 years, ‘Fortified By The Rites Of Holy Mother Church’, formerly of Kent. The dearly loved wife of the late Thomas, much loved mum of Christine and the late Mervyn, also a loved mother-in-law, grandma and great grandma.

Peggy was a sergeant in the Women’s Royal Air Force where she met her husband, Thomas. After their marriage they moved to Great Harwood. Peggy was a devoted and wonderful Mum and her life was centred around her home. She was a brilliant cook and wonderful at baking. She could often be found in the kitchen making jams, chutneys or marmalades. At christmas she would make christmas cakes and give them away to her family and friends. Peggy loved knitting, gardening, decorating and watching TV, especially Big Brother. She also liked to read her newspaper. Time spent reading the paper was precious – no-one dare interrput her and she would make the Daily Telegraph last for days. Peggy was a selfless and caring lady who will be remembered for being so lovely, inside and out.
