Peggy Holt

On 6th November, 2022 peacefully in Henley House, Peggy, aged 93 years of Clayton-le-Moors, formerly of Thornton, Cleveleys. The dearly loved wife of the late Dick, much loved and cherished mum of Kathy and son in law Frank, loving grandma of Simon and Kerry, Katy and John and loving great grandma of Bill, Buddy, Olive and Ronnie.

In her working life, Peggy had a variety of office jobs and also helped her husband in the family business. She lived a happy life and had many friends. Peggy loved her home and loved hosting dinner parties and her Sherry Trifle was legendary. Peggy loved shopping for clothes and was always so beautifully presented. She had an excellent eye for style and colour. Together, Peggy and Dick loved their driving holidays throughout Europe and also enjoyed many European coach trips. Peggy’s friends played a huge part in her life and she loved nothing more than having a good chat over a glass or two of wine. She used to love reading and also enjoyed a good murder mystery on TV.  Peggy will be remembered for her kindness, warmth and joie de vivre.

In appreciation of the care given to grandson Bill, donations are being gratefully received on behalf of The Lily Foundation. To donate, please click the blue Donate button at the foot of this page.

Remembering your liovely mum with her wonderful smile and laugh. She was a dear friend to my mum (Rita) and dad (Jack) and a bridesmaid at their wedding. A perfect host at all her parties and loved to write her cards and letters.. Sending our deepest condolences to you and all the family.

May you always walk in sunshine Peggy. I will miss our post cards, you have been a lovely pen pal and meeting you on a coach trip was such fun, how we laughed about your red wine collection and the empty suitcase…my thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time, with love and fond memories xxxx

So sorry for your lost Kathy. Your Mum was the kindest person and such a good friend to my Mum and Dad. I remember spending lovely afternoons at your home in Great Harwood playing with your barber dolls in that space your Dad made for them. Plus all the holidays in Europe we all used to go on meeting up in Antibies. I’ve many fond memories of Peggy. Take care xx

Peggy was a beautiful lady, inside and out. I loved spending time with Kathy’s Mum and Dad, listening to tales of their holidays in Europe and the friends they met along the way. They always made me feel like one of the family and I will always remember the wonderful times I spent with them all in their lovely home in Thornton Cleveleys. I’m sure Dick will be waiting for his beloved Peggy so they can be together again forever.
