Pauline Crompton

On 8th September, 2023 peacefully in hospital, Pauline, aged 80 years of Church, formerly of Elton, Bury. The dearly loved wife of the late John, also a much loved mum, mother in law, grandma, sister, sister in law and auntie.

Pauline was born in Bury and spent most of her life there before moving to Church, Accrington. She spent her working life in Payroll and had a great head for figures. She also helped her mum serving in her wool shop and this created a love of knitting for Pauline. She loved jigsaws, crosswords and Sudoku – not forgetting her daily newspaper. She avidly watched the game shows and soaps on TV. Family was everything to Pauline and she was a true home-bird. A great cook, she was known for making the best potato pie in the world, made with kidney and suet crust, in a big enamel dish. Pauline loved her family and times spent with them were always precious – even when the grandchildren fired a Nerf Gun at the back of her head ???? She loved her babysitting duties and it gave her the greatest of pleasure watching the grandchildren grow and reach new stages in their lives. She will be much missed by them all.

Donations in memory of Pauline are gratefully being received in lieu of flowers, on behalf of Belvedere Care Home, Accrington. To make a donation please use the donation box at the funeral, or bring into Champ Funeral Services, please note that cheques are to be made payable to Natacha Atkinson.
