Paul Wilkins

On the 10th of December 2020 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, Paul, aged 70 years old, of Altham, sadly passed away.
Big Paul was a loving husband to Debbie and a devoted Dad to Helen, Paul, Rebecca and Darrell. He was a wonderful Father-in-law to Alison and a much loved Son to Ann and the late Leslie. Paul was a proud Grandpa to Jack & Emilie and a truly loyal friend to Jack, Ben and Cleggy.  A true gentlemen, never to be forgotten.
Paul started his working life as an apprentice at Star Papermill, Rishton before joining the Merchant Navy. After leaving the Merchant Navy, Paul began working for Lucas Aerospace where he subsequently worked as an Aircraft Fitter for 42 years, before retiring at the age of 65. Described by colleagues and friends as a, “man to aspire to be”, who conducted himself with honesty and has a great sense of humour. In retirement, Paul dedicated his time to caring for his family.
Paul was a well known figure in the community, particularly for his time working as a bookmaker at the former “Tavisbrook” betting shop in Rishton. He was a lover of sport and an avid supporter of Blackburn Rovers. Paul was a very passionate fan of horse racing and in his spare time he loved to attend race meetings with friends. He always looked forward to spending time with family and sharing a fine bottle of red wine. Paul was larger than life in many ways and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Family flowers only please. Donations in memory of Paul are being gratefully received on behalf of The Injured Jockeys Fund via the donate button below.
