Paul Holden

Peacefully in hospital with his wife and son by his side, Paul, aged 72 years of Blackburn. The dearly loved husband of Helen, much loved father of Andrew, dear father-in-law of Vicky, loving grandad to Helena and a dear brother to Pamela and Stephen.

Formerly of Rishton, Paul began his working life in local accountancy firms, progressing to a management role in a manufacturing business. Having achieved a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Paul ultimately set up his own contract manufacturing business.

An active golfer in his younger days, as well as Secretary of Rishton Golf Club, Paul was very much a family man following the birth of his son. In his later years Paul enjoyed spending his retirement travelling with Helen or at home, reading more about the local history he had such interest in. Always generous with his time, Paul was happy to pass on his historical knowledge to aid the projects of many others. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Paul are being gratefully received on behalf of Cancer Research UK. To donate please click on the blue donate button at the bottom of  this page.

Messages for the family of Paul Holden

Phillip Stephen Holden

My big brother Paul. You will always be sadly missed by your family and all of your friends. x For over two years we have travelled together to Burnley, Blackburn and Preston hospital for Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy, but you never once complained. On our trips you talked incessantly about this, that and everything. Historical buildings along the route. Sometimes I would forget to ask how you was feeling. But now you are gone and your knowledge too! Who do I turn to, without you. Love and missing you Paul. xx

Steven and Kathryn Hacking and family

From fishing for crabs in Mudeford to tales of Royal Rishton over a sandwich lunch at work, Paul was always such great company and a valued family friend who will be sadly missed. With all of our deepest sympathies and love.

Enid Smith

Sincere condolences. We all wish that someday they will find a cure for that dreadful disease.
