Patrick Walker Cookson

On 28th December 2019 in hospital, Patrick aged 90 years of Rishton. The much loved and loving Dad of Anne-Marie and Janet, dear father in law of Martyn, loving grandad of Andrew and dearly loved brother of the late Allan.

Patrick served his plumbing apprenticeship with his father in Great Harwood. Patrick then became a Clerk of Works covering the North West and also Northern Ireland. He enjoyed a most interesting career and always enjoyed his work. Following his retirement Patrick discovered he had a natural talent for painting and created an art studio at home. He worked with oils, pastels and watercolours and painted some wonderful pictures. He also loved photographing nature and would develop the photos and paint the pictures of the things he had captured with his lens. He loved his food and enjoyed watching the cookery programs on TV. An avid reader, Patrick spent many a happy hour immersed in a good action novel. Patrick had lived in Rishton for nearly 50 years and was a well know face in the local community.
