Norman Lonsdale

Peacefully in hospital on 22nd October, 2022 Norman, aged 78 years of Blackburn. The devoted husband of the late Jenifer, loving dad of Jo, Sonya and Jonathan, dear father-in-law of Louise, cherished grandad of Dec, Niamh, Ciara, Hanna and Alex, dear brother of Maureen and Carol and a respected relative, friend and neighbour.

Norman spent his working life working for NORWEB as an electricity linesman up to his retirement. He loved his work and over the years he made many good friends. He was a life long avid Rovers fan and former season ticket holder and, in his younger years, Norman loved nothing more than hitting the open road for a bike ride and each year the family would look forward to a holiday to Dorset. Most of all, Norman was a devoted and proud family man who loved nothing more than time with his nearest and dearest.

The Kirkhams

We have lived next door to Norman for almost 10 years and he became like an extra grandad to our family! He was the kindest and most loving man, becoming like another grandad to us and especially for our children! Our 2nd child, Ben, ‘Norman’ was his first word! He would shout him and bang on the window EVERYTIME he saw him! My eldest would bake for him and take him treats around! He was there for many of their firsts, including the days they came home from hospital that very first time! We have so much love for him and he will be so so missed!! Lots of love from number 29, Heidi, Adam, Nancy, Ben and Sam! xxx
