Loving family man

Peacefully in hospital on 16th May 2018 with his wife by his side, Neil aged 81 years of Accrington. The much loved husband of Norma, loving dad of Terry, Ian and Susan, dear father-in-law of Shane and Anne, cherished grandad of Ryan, Danny, Sasha, Gavin, Daniel, James, Thomas, Hannah and Alex, also a much loved great-grandad.

In his younger years, Neil was a regular soldier in the Lancashire Fusiliers serving in Germany and Cyprus. Following in his father’s footsteps, Neil worked in the meat trade working for Slingers when he moved to Accrington. Later he started up as a window cleaner, purchasing his own round in Accrington. Through his work Neil bacame a well known face. Neil was a former amateur boxer and qualified as an ABA boxing coach, running the police boxing gym at Haslingden for 20 years. He gave a lot of his time to his club. He was a fitness fanatic, always out walking and never sitting still. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
