Milda Houghton

Peacefully at Hope House on 8th October 2025, Milda aged 96 years of Great Harwood. The devoted wife of the late Frank, loving mother of Richard and Sandra, dear mother-in-law of Dave, cherished granny of Jack and his wife Kayleigh and Harry and his wife Sarah, great grandma of the late James and also a dear relative and friend.

Milda began her working life at Martin’s and NatWest Bank in Clayton-le-Moors, before starting her own business, running a greengrocer and florist on Charles Street, Great Harwood. She soon became a well-known and much loved face in the community. Later, she worked at Great Harwood Town Hall before enjoying her well-earned retirement.

Milda met her beloved Frank when they were both cyclists, they married in 1950 and had 68 happy years togther. Milda loved to travel and had many wonderful holidays worldwide.

Milda was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her and will be greatly missed, remembered always with deep affection.
