Michael ‘Mike’ Boast
Passed away peacefully at Pendleside Hospice on 26th February 2022 aged 75 years and of Accrington. The devoted and much-loved husband of Tricia, beloved dad of Chris, dear father-in-law of Katie, cherished Grandad of Isaac and Aaron, dear brother of Joan and Keith and a well-respected relative and very good friend to many.
Following his school years Mike served his time as an apprentice Heating engineer with J T Livesey. He then began working at Brooke bond Oxo as a maintenance engineer for many years until its closure in 1990. During his time at Oxo, Mike made many good and loyal friends and was always a well-respected member of his working team. He then set up as a self-employed plumber, he always enjoyed his work and carried it out to his highest standards.
In his younger years Mike loved to be outdoors and over time he has trekked the many paths, hills and fells of the Lake District. Mike was also a former member of the Accrington Lions Club, where he gave much of his time helping with their charitable work. Later he became an avid golfer. Mike always looked forward to spending time on the course with his son and his many friends. He was a current member of Green Howarth Golf club and former member of Baxenden, Accrington and Great Harwood Clubs respectively. He was the most devoted husband to his wife of 52 years, Tricia, who he met whilst on holiday in the Isle of Man. Together they shared a wonderful and happy life enjoying many holidays abroad, cruises and weekends away. Their favourite destinations were Portugal, Lanzarote and Spain where they loved to spend time relaxing in the sunshine, accompanied by friends and family.
Mike was the most devoted and loving Dad and Grandad to his ‘boys’.
