Maureen Mary Golden

Peacefully in hospital on 11th August 2019, Maureen aged 80 years and of Great Harwood. The devoted wife of the late Brian, loving sister of the late Dorothy, much loved auntie to Alan, Mark, Judith, Lynda, Lorraine, Paul and Nigel, a dear great-auntie, relative and good friend to many. Maureen also leaves her beloved cat Toby.

Maureen worked as an office administrator throughout her life, firstly at Mullard’s and later for the Social Services.  Maureen loved nothing more than spending time with her many friends at Great Harwood Golf Club where she was a member for many years, she was the former Lady Captain and also the First Lady Director of the golf club, she also loved to meet up in the club house on a Monday evening for a game of Bridge.

A keen sports woman, Maureen loved all sports and always kept up to date with the football, cricket and golf. Maureen had a passion for travelling and she always looked forward to getting away on holiday, whether a trip around the UK or setting sail on one of her favourite cruise liners for some rest and relaxation.

Maureen enjoyed a fantastic social life and she will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
