Mary Roberts

Sadly passed away peacefully on the 15th September at Royal Blackburn hospital with her family by her side.
She had suffered for a long time with Myeloma but fought the disease everyday.
Mary leaves husband Dave, children Anthony and Claire their partners Sharron and Liam, grandchildren Niall, Sam, Kayleigh and Joe. Mary was also great grandmother to Kyra and Mylo and sister to Susan, Maureen and Valerie.

Mary had worked at the Greyhound Ford garage for over 30 years and had lots of friends who also worked there, she kept in touch with many of them until she passed away.
Mary loved her time travelling with Dave and every year in the winter months went to India, exploring the country from top to bottom, often visiting nature reserves and other exciting places off the beaten track.

As well as travel Mary and Dave spent many hours in their beloved garden growing their own fruit and vegetable and sitting in the summer house enjoying the wildlife around them and enjoying a glass of wine, or two.
Mary will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Family flowers only please, donations in memory of Mary are being gratefully received on behalf of Myeloma UK via the donate button below.

Please feel free to leave a message for Mary’s online memorial book by completing the form below.

So sad Mary as lost her brave fight. Nearly always a smile when I visited her. She was a lovely person, and will enjoy greatly missed, by everyone that knew her.

Yuichi TAMURA

I’m very sorry and so sad as Mary is my English mum. She was always funny and kind. When I visited her first time 35 years ago, she asked me if I have anything I don’t like to eat. I said “celery!” and she immediately dumped some celery which was right in front of us in the kitchen. Also 30 years ago, Dave and Mary were visiting Greece for holiday, and I welcomed them with Japanese Ambassador’s car, she was embarrassed as she was wearing non sleeve shirt and thongs. All my precious memories…

Nigel Brotherton
