Memorial Book
Of your charity please pray for the repose of the soul of Kath, who passed away fortified by the Rites of Holy Mother Church on 12th December 2025, aged 86 years, of Blackburn.
The devoted wife of the late Jack, a loving mum to Christine, Susan and Michael, a dear mother-in-law to Michael and David, a cherished “G’ma” to Dominic, Joseph, Patrick, Olivia, Amelia and Phoebe, and a great-grandma to Jemima. A dear sister to David, sister-in-law to Marion and a respected relative and good friend to many.
A lifelong resident of Blackburn, Kath lived her life with purpose and loved keeping herself busy. She spent 48 years working as Office Manager at R & J Builders Hardware Limited, retiring at the age of 80. Kath loved her work and was well respected by both colleagues and customers. Super organised, everything had its place, and had to be in it, ensuring the office always ran like clockwork. A devout Roman Catholic, Kath was a former member of St Alban’s RC Church, where she was the first May Queen following the war, an honour she always remained proud of. She later moved to Holy Souls Church, where she worshipped for many years, becoming a familiar and much loved face within the church community. An avid tennis fan, Kath was privileged to attend Wimbledon on several occasions and loved the thrill and excitement of the game. She also enjoyed trips to the theatre and always looked forward to a lunch date with her family and friends.
Kath was loved and cherished by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
Family flowers only please. Donations are being received in Kath’s memory on behalf of the British Heart Foundation.

I am heartbroken to hear of Kath’s passing. Friends since 1956 and never a cross word between us. Condolences to her children and family. I will never forget the times we had together. Rest in peace Kath.
