Marion Martha Webber

Suddenly but peacefully on 27th October 2023, Marion aged 82 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The devoted wife of the late Mick, loving mum of Claire and the late Suzanne, dear mother-in-law of David, cherished grandma of Chloe, Alex, Adam and Ryan and also a much adored auntie, relative and friend.

Born in Newcastle and raised in London following the family returning to their hometown after the war years. Marion began her working life at Marks and Spencer, working at the famous Baker Street store in the accounts department. She later worked in retail and over the years  Marion worked for various stores, she also spent time working as a school dinner lady. Marion was an avid rugby league supporter and follower of Wigan Warriors, she loved to keep up to date with her team and would always attend home matches and in more recent years, Marion kept up to date from the comfort of her own home and she also liked to follow Burnley Football Club. Family holidays were always looked forward to and in younger years these were spent with the family in Wales and later years she enjoyed trips to America. Marion was the most doting grandma to her four grandchildren and she took on the role of legal guardian to Chloe and Alex following her beloved daughter Suzanne becoming too unwell to care for them.

Marion was loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed but fondly remembered.
