Mario Cyril Mootooveeren

On 1st November 2023, peacefully in hospital after a short illness, Mario, aged 63 years, ‘Fortified By The Rites Of Holy Mother Church’. the dearly beloved and loving husband of Marie, also a much loved brother, brother in law, uncle and dear friend to many.

Requiescat in Pace.

Mario was born in Mauritius, Mario worked as a school teacher in arithmetic. He followed Marie to England and they married. Mario attended Preston University and gained his degree in Accountancy. He became self employed, working from home and loved his work. Mario was meticulous with figures and you wouldn’t want to be the missing penny on his balance sheet.  He and Marie enjoyed wonderful long holidays visiting family and friends in Mauritius. He enjoyed Tai Chi and Yoga and was a gifted Chess player. He loved his food, especially steak, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower and boiled potatoes, accompanied with a glass if red and followed by Marie’s very tasty homemade trifle. Mario was an avid fan of Emmerdale and he thought the characters were real ☺️ Mario and Marie were a perfect couple and were very lucky to have been blessed with wonderful family and special friends.

Flowers are being received at the Chapel of Rest.
