Memorial Book

On 11th August 2025, peacefully in The East Lancashire Hospice, Maria, aged 62 years of Clayton-le-Moors. Beloved daughter of the late Anne and Jack, loving and much loved mum of Amira, loving sister of Laura and the late Duncan, dearest auntie of Leah, Dan and Rory, cherished ‘fur baby mum’ of Alfie and the late Lucky. Maria was a special presence in the heart of her family and many friends.

Maria began her career as an apprentice in hairdressing and she went on to open her own salon in London, a proud achievement that reflected both her talents and her entrepreneurial spirit. Her interests, however, extended far beyond hairdressing. Maria had always been drawn to the natural approach to health and wellbeing, and she qualified in naturopathic nutrition, eager to share her knowledge and encourage others to look after themselves, often giving a playful telling off if you weren’t eating the right things.
Maria was a woman of great beauty, both inside and out. She carried herself with elegance and had an exceptional eye for style, especially when it came to Gucci. She loved shopping, travelling, and learning about different cultures, confidently seeking new experiences and perspectives. She had the most distinctive and memorable voice, a sparkle in her eye, and a warmth that drew people to her. Popular and sociable, Maria enjoyed the company of others and had a gift for making those around her feel welcome. A true animal lover, she adored her dogs, Alfie and the late Lucky, who had been her constant companions and brought her so much love.
Maria will be remembered today and always – with love, admiration, and gratitude for the joy and beauty she brought into the lives of her loving family and many friends.

Donations in lieu of flowers are being gratefully received on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice in Maria’s memory.
