Margaret Steer

On 14th March, 2023, peacefully in Wellfield Care Home, Margaret, aged 92 years of Accrington. The dearly loved wife of the late James, much loved mum of Peter and the late Stephen, loving mother in law of Vivienne and also a much loved grandma, great grandma and sister in law.

Margaret had been a dinner lady at Huncoat School before she began working at Johnsons Dry Cleaners in Accrington, where she worked for many years. She then became a newsagents assistant on Broadway and Manor Street. Margaret had a great head for figures and could add up your purchases in a flash. She was popular and well liked and made many friends through her work. Margaret loved socialising and being in company. Always so beautifully presented and smart, she had a lovely, beaming smile. Margaret  enjoyed puzzles, crosswords and the old films and musicals and related memorabilia. She was also a true royalist. A caring, beautiful and loving lady, she will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family and her joy of their times shared.
