Margaret Perry

Peacefully on 1st May 2023, Margaret aged 88 years formerly of Middleton. The devoted wife of the late Gordon, loving mum of Ian and Stuart and the late Craig, dear mother-in-law of Heather and Nicola and a cherished grandma to Callum and Dermot.

Margaret was born and raised in Droylsden before moving to Middleton following marrying the love of her life Gordon. She spent her working life at the Co-op as a mail delivery driver. Margaret’s passion in life was travelling and over the years she has explored the globe and enjoyed many world class cruises. She was a keen cyclist in younger years and she loved to organise training camps for other avid cyclist up to forty at a time, arraigning visits to Majorca and Portugal always ensuring the trips ran like clockwork. Margaret was always dressed to impress with her hair perfectly styled and makeup applied and whenever she was due to fly she would always go out and purchase her airport outfit and she was lovingly known locally in Middleton as ‘Lady Margaret of Middleton’. She was the most doting mum and grandma to her boys, giving them the best life possible.

Margaret will be sadly missed but fondly remebered by all who knew her.

Ian, so sorry to hear of your Mum’s passing. She was a lovely, kind and supportive friend to me as was your wonderful Dad, hopefully they are now together. Sadly I will not be able to attend the funeral but I will be thinking of you, love Jane xxx
