Margaret Mary Foote – Peggy

Peggy passed away peacefully on 8th August 2022 in hospital aged 83 years. Formerly of Stanhill and Accrington. The much loved and loving mum of Andrew and Nicholas, much loved mother in law of Joanne and Liz, cherished granny of Lara, Callum, Erin and Jaiden and a dear friend to many.

Peggy spent her working life a a secretary in the office at Enfield Paints, where she worked for many years and then moved to Blythe Chemicals until her retirement. She was a devoted family lady and also loved her dogs. Peggy was in her element when socialising and in company and was a familiar face at the weekend in the pubs and WMC’s around Accrington. She loved drives out with Nick and Liz to Downham for an ice cream and she would song along at the top of her voice to her favourite Barry Manilow and Elvis songs. In her earlier years, Peggy won the Lancashire Women’s Pistol Shooting trophy. Also an avid fan of TV , Peggy enjoyed her cigarettes too. She will be remembered for her kind heart and honest nature.

Elaine Nicholson

Peggy: fast became a popular and much loved member of our family at Woodlands and we’ll all miss her dearly. It was a pleasure and an honour to know her. She adored her family (especially her Nicholas) and spoke about you all often. She never failed to make me smile and was always ready for a hug. I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending all the love there is and my deepest condolences
