Margaret Lillian Ann fisher

On 23rd December 2020 Margaret passed away peacefully in hospital, aged 84 years of Rishton. The dearly beloved wife of the late Tom, much loved aunt of Paul and Tony and loving great aunt to Matthew, Ben and Lucy.

Margaret grew up in Blackburn and fondly recalled visits to family in Liverpool and childhood summer holidays spent in New Brighton, Wales and trips to the cinema with her cousin Ian. Margaret spent her entire career working for the NHS at the Blackburn Royal Infirmary Hospital finishing off on the health & records administration team.

Margaret and Tom loved their visits to the Lake District, where they enjoyed long scenic walks and visits to the pub.  Together they also loved to travel, and following Tom’s retirement, they travelled the world visiting such wonderful places as The Great Wall of China, the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem, Niagara falls, the Grand Canyon and Hong Kong. Margaret loved to spend Christmas’s with her her family, especially her great nephews and great niece –  Matthew, Ben & Lucy. It became a family tradition for 18 years and Margaret spent many happy hours playing imaginary games with them. She had indeed been blessed with a generous heart and each gift she gave was always chosen with the greatest of care and thought. Margaret was generous, kind & considerate but she could dig her heels in when she wanted to. She loved family celebrations and knew how precious these times were. In her later years she spent many happy hours looking after her friend Trish’s, dogs. They became like children she could spoil. Margaret will be remembered for her warmth and generosity of heart and mind.
