Margaret passed away peacefully on Tuesday 14th of September 2021 at Moorhead Rest Home, Clayton le Moors.

Margaret was born in Plymouth on the 3rd of December 1927, where in 1944 on Plymouth Hoe, she met a Royal Marine, Tom Leeming, they married and had two children in Devon, Linda and Alan and moved to Accrington in 1952 where they later had Jackie their youngest daughter.

Margaret and ‘my Tom’ were together for over 50 years until he passed away in 1998.

Margaret worked in the old Accrington Market selling shoes and later worked at Tony’s record shop on Blackburn Road before moving to Marys Music on Whalley Road. Margaret then went to Albert Harrisons on Queens Road before moving to Slingers butchers and working in Darwen and Accrington markets before retiring in the late 1980s.

Margaret loved her music, all animals, she was an amazing knitter, quilter and she loved a family party where she was always the life and soul.

Margaret, loving mother of Linda, Alan & Jackie, mother-in-law of Michael, June & Alex; a precious nana, grandma, gran, great grandma and great, great grandma to all her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, who are spread across England and Italy. The dearest sister of Johnny and sister -in-law Jean & Mary and Aunty to many nieces and nephews. Remembering her Moorhead family who have loved and cared for her over the last nine years.

Margaret will be remembered with much love and sadly missed by all her family and friends.
