Margaret Grimshaw ‘Peggy’

Peacefully at the Woodlands Care Home on 21st December 2023, Peggy aged 95 years formerly of Rishton, Blackburn and Penwortham. The devoted wife of the late Raymond, much loved and loving mum of Susan, Ray and Tim, dear mother-in-law of Drew, Di and Shirley, cherished grandma of Jill, Chris, Sarah-Jayne, Mark, Nicolas and Helen, great grandma of Laura, Bethany, Robert, James, Abi, Lily, Ida and Jacob and a dear sister of Olwyn and also a dear relative and friend.

A doting family lady, Peggy always looked forward to spending time with her nearest and dearest when they would all gather each Sunday for high tea and be treated to some of Peggy’s finest baking. Following in her fathers footsteps, Peggy was the most avid Blackburn Rovers Supporter and former season ticket holder and loved nothing more than attending the matches to cheer on her team. Peggy loved to sing and was a former member of Blackburn Music Society, she had the most beautiful voice and continued to sing throughout her life. Holidays were always looked forward to and Peggy loved visits to Cornwall and Croatia and would often offer a welcoming home to her German exchange friends organised by Penwortham Methodist Church which she had been an active member of.

Family flowers only please, donations are being gratefully received in memory of Peggy on behalf of East Lancashire Hospice
