Leslie Newcombe (Les)

Peacefully at Springhill Care Home on 14th February 2019, Les aged 84 years of Oswaldtwistle and formerly of Bulkington, Warwickshire.  The devoted and much loved husband of Betty, loving dad of Ian and Julie, dear father-in-law of Valerie and Brian, cherished grandad and great grandad.

Following in his father’s footsteps, Les worked as a coal miner from leaving school.  He then went on to work as a foreman at Massey Ferguson making tractors for over 30 years.  It was a job that he loved and he made many good friends there before retiring at the age of 60 years.

Former member of Accrington Male Voice Choir, Les was also a keen and avid fisherman and enjoyed sea and river fishing as well as fly fishing.  He loved the countryside and wildlife and travelled worldwide.
