A funeral service to give thanks for the life of Les will take place at St James' Church, St James' Road, Blackburn, BB1 8EL. Followed by Committal at Pleasington Cemetery.

Leslie (Les) Aspin

Peacefully in hospital surrounded by his loving family on 27th January 2020 Les aged 87 years of Blackburn. The devoted and much loved husband of Kay, loving dad of Beverly, Kevin, Vivienne, Craig and Deborah, a cherished grandad and great-grandad.

Les spent his working life as an engineer at British Aerospace for over twenty years, he was always a hard worker and always a popular member of his working team. Les’s passion in life was his beloved dogs, especially the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Les was an International Championship Show Judge and was renowned in the dog world with his eye for precision for the fine form of a good Staffordshire Bull Terrier. This has seen Les travel all over the world with his beloved wife Kay to attend the championship shows.

In his younger years Les was a semi-pro footballer playing for Rochdale, he was also a keen snooker player and member at St Marks Snooker Club. Most of all Les was a devoted family man, devoting himself to the love and care of all his family, he was the most proud grandad and great-grandad and always looked forward to family visits.

Donations are being received in memory of Les on behalf of North West Staffordshire Bull Terrier Rescue c/o Champ Funeral Services. A donation box will also be available at the funeral.
