Leslie Allen ‘Les’
Leslie Allen, affectionately known as Les, peacefully passed away on December 17, 2023, at the age of 78, surrounded by his family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and a life well-lived. He was a devoted husband to Angela and a cherished father to Mark and Melanie and father-in-law of Paul and Angela. His memory will forever live on in the hearts of his grandchildren, Bethany, Abigail, Hannah, and Ryan.
Les dedicated his entire working life to Bill Tattersalls, where he served as a trusty engineer. His commitment and skill were unwavering, making him a respected and valued employee and friend to Bill Tattersall.
In the 1970s, Les showcased his athleticism and passion for football as a player for Accrington Stanley. His love for the sport extended beyond his playing days, as he also contributed his knowledge and experience as a coach for Whalley, a role he embraced with enthusiasm and dedication.
A true football aficionado, Les was an avid supporter of Blackburn Rovers and Accrington Stanley. His passion for the game knew no bounds, and he followed his favorite teams with unwavering loyalty throughout the years.
Les lived a healthy and vibrant life, abstaining from both alcohol and tobacco. He found joy in the simple pleasures, especially enjoying meals out, exploring the open road on his beloved motorbike. Angela, his devoted wife, often joined him on the back of the bike, creating cherished memories together.
Beyond his love for football and motorbikes, Les was a doting grandfather who adored spending time with his grandchildren. His gentle demeanor, calm disposition, and polite nature endeared him to all who were fortunate enough to know him. Les had a wonderful sense of humor that could light up any room, leaving a lasting impression on those who had the privilege of sharing in his laughter.
Les Allen will be remembered not only for his professional achievements but also for the love he shared with his family and the positive impact he had on the lives of those around him. As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, let us celebrate the beautiful memories he leaves behind and find solace in the knowledge that his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
Rest in peace, Les, and may your journey into eternity be as rich and vibrant as the life you lived.
