Leonard Bowyer (Len)

Peacefully in his sleep in the loving care of Wellfield Care Home on 21st February 2020. Len aged 92 years of Baxenden. The devoted husband of the late Dorothy, loving dad of the late Shirley, dear father-in-law of John and cherished grandad of Richard.

Len served in the Army with the Grenadier Guards during world war two and was posted to Germany, he was always very proud of his service for his country. Following his years in the forces he joined Lancashire Constabulary where he enjoyed a career spanning over twenty years. He worked in Liverpool, Lake District and later at Accrington where he was the Station Sergeant. Len then went on to work as a civil servant for the DWP at the Accrington Job Centre. In his spare time Len loved to get away with his wife Dorothy and enjoy sometime away together, they visited areas all over the UK. A keen jazz fan, Leonard always looked forward to attending a concert to listen to his favourite tunes. At home he loved to relax listening to his dear wife playing away on her piano.
