Kevin John Greenfield – Kev

???? Sunrise 6th March, 1956 – Sunset 31st July, 2023 ???? Peacefully at his home, Kev, aged 67 years of Whalley, formerly of Coventry. The dearly loved husband of Helen, much loved dad of Jack, Josh and Jess. dear father in law of Laura, loving and cherished grandad of Kieran, Cameron, Charlie, Hugh and Fionnuala and the dearly loved son of the late Theresa and Jack.

Kev spent his working life in Customer Service and Account Management up to his early retirement. Following in his father’s footsteps, Kev had a season ticket at Coventry FC from being a toddler. He was one of Coventry’s most passionate fans and once disembarked from a cruise ship in Norway to watch his revered team play at Wembley. Kev loved photography, music, reading and watching Coronation Street on catchup. He could be grumpy, but he was so funny and loved to make you laugh. Gifted with a great sense of humour, Kev could always find the bright spot. His warm personality drew people to him, making him popular and easy to love.  Kev and Helen adored their family holidays and holidays together. Kev would meticulously plan their itinerary to their many destinations. They had toured America 3 times, and Sri Lanka was a very special place for them. Kev and Helen also loved going to gigs and Counting Crows were a favourite band – they have so many Meet & Greet photos with them.  Kev was first and foremost a devoted and loving family man. He cherished every moment spent with his family, sharing love and laughter, the happy times and the sad. He taught them that everything done with love would last. He will be remembered for his commitment to the people and things he loved.

Bri and Bev

Our condolences go to you all at this sad time. Kev was a good friend to me and Bev and then when he met Helen we all basically grew up together. Bringing our children up whether in Nuneaton, Basingstoke, New Arley etc, etc, we always managed to keep our friendship growing stronger. We have been to many concerts together and the one in particular comes to mind is seeing Bruce Springsteen for the second time together at Villa Park! (Great times) Kev was a lovely man and a good friend who always managed to see the funny side of things even through the darkest moments. We will miss you mate but at least we will have some great memories spanning over the last fifty years. xx

Patrick Newton

David Castle

Kev was the best I’ve ever had who became an ever greater mate. He was the first person to help transition into a managerial role, and I will forever grateful for his support. He did make me laugh as wherever and whenever we would be working, around the country, we always had to plan it around him being back for Coronation Street… no if’s, no but’s!! My love to Helen and family xx

April Smith

Thinking of you all ???? Kev was a wonderful Man xx

Dave and Lin Heal

We are devastated about the loss of our treasured friend Kev. From school days, to nights out in our 20’s, through marriage and bringing up kids, Kev was always there, making us laugh and being the most wonderful mate. Even when he moved further and further away from Coventry and we didn’t see him and Helen so often, he was always part of our life. He was Best Man at our wedding nearly 43 years ago and I was Best Man at his wedding to Helen. To Helen and each and every member of your lovely family, we are so dreadfully sorry for your loss and we send you all our love. Kev – our friend – you will never ever be forgotten. We will think of you every time we see a beautiful sunset, always xxx

Dave and Gill Newman

Our friend for over 50 years, we met through Dave Heal and we knocked about together and went on lads nights out and holidays too. You drove Gill and I home on the evening after our wedding, your car laden with our wedding presents including an ironing board, it looked so funny. We still have the wedding present from you which your dear Mum chose. Once the lads were all married off we went our separate ways but always stayed in touch, over ten years ago we started to meet up with a group of our old friends and had some fun nights out at the Millers, and The Bagington oak, and in the last two years, the Royal Arms, it was like all our yesterdays. In all that Kev has been through, we have never heard him moan about his circumstances and he has always remained witty and cheerful. Our group catch ups will never been the same, but rest assured you will be remembered fondly and there will always be a toast in your honour. RIP until we meet again x
