Memorial Book
On 14th August 2025 peacefully in East Lancashire Hospice, Ken aged 73years of Baxenden, much loved and loving dad of Sharon and Andrew, dear father in law of Mark and loving grandad of Sam and Ethan.
Ken was a dedicated and hardworking man whose career began in the printing industry. He spent many years as a typesetter and printer at Joseph Arnolds, later continuing his work at J.B. Broadleys in Crawshawbooth. Eventually, Ken made a significant career change and joined the NHS, where he found a new sense of purpose working in administration within Macmillan Support. He also generously gave his time as a volunteer at the Royal Blackburn Hospital, greeting patients and visitors from the front desk with kindness and warmth.
A lifelong learner, Ken had a deep passion for education and was often the oldest student in his college courses, something he always embraced with pride and enthusiasm. His love of learning never faded, and he was always eager to expand his knowledge
Outside of work and study, Ken was a man of many interests. He was a talented gardener, well known for his beautiful garden of roses, and an avid sportsman. He completed the London Marathon an impressive four times and enjoyed running, cycling, and his regular Friday bowling sessions at Oakhill Bowling Club.
Ken’s mischievous sense of humour and kind hearted nature meant he made friends wherever he went. He will be remembered not only for his accomplishments and energy but also for the warmth, laughter, and joy he brought into the lives of others.
