Keith ThompsonDevoted family man
Peacefully in the loving care of East Lancashire Hospice and surrounded by his loving family on 31st October 2018, Keith aged 71 years of Ramsgreave, Blackburn and formerly of Accrington. The devoted and much loved husband of Elaine, loving dad of Helen and Richard, Andrew and Claire, dear father-in-law of Paul, Merel, Angela and David and cherished grandad of Rose, Elliot, Katy, Darcie, Emilia, Reuben & Dexter, a dear brother and also a much loved relative and good friend.
Keith trained as an engineer in Oxford and later worked in many engineering companies as a Managing Director. Following redundancy, Keith trained as a college lecturer at Longridge Teaching Centre and went on to train apprentices at British Aerospace. He was very clever and knowledgable.
A lover of the great outdoors, Keith always kept himself fit and active and in his younger years enjoyed both running and walking in the Lake District and latterly more locally. He was a fantastic squash player and an amazing dancer who enjoyed a bit of rock ‘n’ roll and was always life and soul of the party. He loved holidays abroad to where he would enjoy relaxing in the sunshine and Malta was a particular favourite. Keith was also partial to a glass of real ale or red wine.
He will be sadly missed.
Donations may be made in memory of Keith to East Lancashire Hospice.
