A funeral service will be held in Champ Service Chapel prior to a private committal

Keith John Preston born in Darwen on the 2 May 1951, but raised in Blackburn and Accrington with his mum Winnie and Dad Bill, along with his 4 sisters Leah, Janet. Rosina, Gill and brother Bob.

Keith joined the army aged 18, as a gunner for the Royal Artillery, 27th Regiment, HQ battery (affectionately known as Hedgehog battery). He became a Bomardier and a leader for a group of soldiers. His army mates would adopt his initials as his nickname, calling him ‘KP’ which has stuck with him.

Keith passed away on 29th January 2026 in Royal Blackburn Hospital. He leaves behind his two daughters Sylvina & Amy, his two grandsons Wilf and Ted, his son-in law Craig and many neices and nephews from his exended family.
