Kate May

On 10th February 2024, Kate passed away peacefully in hospital following a short illness, and of Wilpshire. The dearly beloved and loving wife of Ronnie, loved sister of Edward and Helena, also a dear sister in law, auntie and cousin.

Kate worked in hospitality before following her heart and taking an upholstery course, receiving a Gold Medal of Excellence, such were her talents. Kate went on to design the most amazing bespoke dog beds, each one carved and sewn with love. Her dog beds grace the homes of stars and royalty. Kate also made bespoke household furniture. Together she and Ronnie travelled the country selling Kate’s beds, collars and beautiful bespoke dog coats made of tweed and fur. Ronnie, always and ever so proud of his lovely wife – they were truly soulmates, loving each other’s company and working on projects together. Their combined love of animals led them to rescue several cats and dogs, bringing more warmth and love into their home. Kate also enjoyed being out walking the dogs. Out of work, she had a keen interest in the war and war planes. Ronnie once surprised Kate by paying for her name to appear on the wing of a Vulcan Bomber, celebrating its 60 years of service. Kate was over the moon, especially when she discovered her dad’s name was on the same wing. Kate was gentle, brimming with talent but never one to seek the limelight. She will be fondly remembered for her boundless creativity, unwavering compassion, and the love she shared with Ronnie and their furry companions. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Rest in peace, Kate. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
