Joyce Hodkinson

On 30th July 2023, peacefully at her home, Joyce, aged 78 years of Accrington. Much loved wife of the late Vincent, dearly loved mum of Steven and daughter-in-law Susan, cherished grandma of Amy and her partner Joe, great grandma to Leighton and Ariella, a dear sister to the late Joan and nieces Janet, June and Jenny and their partners Alan, Derek and John.

Joyce started her working life in textiles and quickly went on to be a wages clerk at a couple of local businesses, the latter being at James Dewhurst before her retirement.

Joyce, the late Vincent and son Steven would love spending time on holiday in various places in England including Morecambe and Pontins. Before Joyce’s sister Joan passed they loved to go to Benidorm together to do a cigarette run and have fun in the sun playing bingo. She loved shopping and had a habit of buying two of everything and in recent times would send Steven out to the shops looking for a bulk buy bargain. Her kitchen cupboards were always well stocked. Joyce loved to garden and once had over 200 plant pots in her garden, you could say that she was a bit of a ‘hoarder’.

Joyce will be missed by all her family and friends and will be remembered fondly and with love.
