Joyce Claire Montgomery

Peacefully surrounded by her loving family in hospital on 4th September 2019, Joyce aged 73 years of Accrington. The dearly loved and devoted wife of Alex, loving mum of David, dear sister of Rita, Eileen, Stephen and Sheila, loved sister-in-law of Wendy, dear auntie and relative and friend to many, Joyce also leaves her best friend Maureen.

Joyce worked for over thirty eight years at Ward-Knowles printers working her way up to Print Finishing Supervisor, she loved her working life and made many good loyal friends over the years. She was a people person and could make friends with anyone, once you became friends with Joyce, you had a friend for life and she would always be there for you. Joyce loved to buy people gifts and each time she heard a new baby was due she would be off to buy her latest gifts for the family. A dancing queen, Joyce loved nothing more than hitting the dance floor jiving away to her favourite tracks. Joyce loved to travel and togther with her devoted husband Alex they have travelled worldwide seeing the most amazing sights and enjoying some once in a lifetime experiences. Joyce loved a drink especially a gin and she had a crazy wild side and was always the life and soul of the party. Joyce and Alex had had the most amazing forty years of marriage and enjoyed a small private party to celebrate their Ruby anniversary earlier this years at Breda Murphy’s in Whalley.

A loveable lady that will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
