John Poland

On 8th November 2023, peacefully at hospital aged 80. A loving husband to Maureen, dear brother to Sharon, and a cherished dad to Liz, Cheree, Mick and Craig and partners Bev, Pete, Emma and Sylvina. A proud grandad and great-grandad to Sam, Kylie, Steven, Chelsea, Jackson, Anthony, Jacob, Wilf, Ted and Valentino.

John was retired but spent a lot of his working life at British Steel, away from work, John had a passion for greyhounds and greyhound racing a love that brought him great excitement and camaraderie. He also enjoyed the thrill of horse racing, the exploration of antiques fairs, and the quiet satisfaction of perusing car boot sales.

John was the salt of the earth, a man whose kindness, humility, and genuine nature endeared him to everyone he met.

His memory will live on in the stories, laughter, and shared moments that defined his life. Let us remember him with gratitude for the love he gave, and may he rest in peace, surrounded by the love that he so freely gave throughout his remarkable journey.
