John Kelvin Booth

A well-known local face

On 4th July in hospital, John aged 73 years of Clayton-le-Moors.  The much loved husband of Jean, loving dad of Stephen and Dawn, Polly and Vic, cherished grandad of Paul and Stacey, Martin and Kayleigh, Emily and Kieron, Heather & Ian, Joyce & Matt, great grandad of Alisha, Keira, Chloe, Kinsley, Kate-Leigh, Lacey, Tyler, Jason and Sky,  brother of Gladys and Vincent and his wife Betty, uncle to Paula and family, a good friend of Denise and Graham and a lovely relative and friend to many.

John was a factory worker for many years and later worked as a caretaker as well as devoting himself to being Jean’s full-time carer.  In his younger years, John attended the cubs and scouts.  He loved dogs and was a breeder of Yorkshire Terriers. He was also an avid fisherman who loved to spend hours fishing, especially at night.  John was a well-known local face, especially scooting around on his mobile scooter with his wife Jean.  He was a dedicated family man who loved to spend time with his family and he was always very grateful for the support received from the care nurses.
