John ‘Jack’ McGlynn

Devoted family man
Of your charity please pray for the Repose of the Soul of Jack who passed away peacefully in hospital on 12th October 2018, aged 89 years. The devoted and much loved father of Anne, Paul, Mark, David and Gillian, a dear father-in-law and cherished grandad and great-grandad.

Jack spent most of his working life in the weaving industry: selling shuttles and bobbins to local factories before running his own company making those shuttles. Always passionate about his work, he later diversified into designing and manufacturing high quality children’s wooden toys before retiring in his mid-sixties. Jack had a love for Malta and often reminisced of happy family times spent there. In later years he loved nothing more than getting away to the sunshine and busy atmosphere of Benidorm where he sang and entertained his fellow holiday makers with stories and jokes. Jack was a devoted family man, who always looked forward to time with his large family. He loved to spend time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren for whom he had much love and deep pride.

Family flowers only please. Donations are being received in memory of Jack on behalf of The Salvation Army
