John Houghton (Jack)

Jack passed away peacefully on Sunday 23^rd May 2021 aged 93 years

Jack was the beloved husband of the late Marie, from whom he was inseparable, dearly loved Dad of Susan, Jillian, John, Janet, Peter and Cathy, cherished grandad and great grandad also a dear friend and relative to many.

Jack lived in Rishton for much of his life. Jack worked for many years at the GEC in Clayton le moors, living his life in Rishton he regularly attended St Peter’s and St Paul’s Parish Church, he was a member and avid follower of Rishton Cricket Club. Jack had a keen interest in the ups and downs of Blackburn Rovers and Accrington Stanley. Jack will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

We didn’t know Jack very long, but in a short period of time he made a big impression on us. He would do anything for anyone, never complained, was always positive, and always spoke from his heart. It was truly a pleasure to meet him. He portrayed by example, of how we should all behave towards one another.
