John Gordon Kenyon Birtwell

John passed away peacefully on the evening of 4th September 2018, aged 75 years of Whalley. Dearly loved husband of Liz, wonderful father of Louise and Rachael, devoted Pompa of Ella, Harry, Phoebe and Isabelle, caring brother of Pam and a dear friend to many.

John had a successful career in wallpaper manufacture having started his working life as a trainee manager at Star Paper Mill  and then studying paper science at UMIST.  He was commercially creative, hard working and pedantic.

In his spare time, he loved to play golf in Clitheroe and enjoyed his Wednesday walk with ‘The Boys’ all over the Ribble Valley which generally finished off at the pub.  Living life to the full John would throw himself into whatever caught his attention, be it the grand prix, music, food, wine, travel, art or windsurfing.  Art was a particular passion of his and he would attend classes three times per week.

John will be sadly missed.
