John David Taylor

Suddenly on 27th February 2022, John aged 67 years of Burnley. The devoted husband of Kate, much loved father of Nathan and Tobias, dear father-in-law of Kasia, cherished grandad ‘hubba’ of Max, Nel and Flynn.

John spent his working life in the banking world working for NatWest working his way up through the ranks. John loved his work and was well respected by his co-workers and clients. Over the years he worked at Clayton-le-Moors, Oswaldtwistle and Accrington before taking on his position at Business Manager at the Burnley branch where he retired from. He was a former member of the Accrington Round Table and Rotary clubs, giving much of his spare time with charity events. John loved life and he was well known for ‘John’s Adventures’. He was the most sociable of people and could chat to anyone about anything. John loved to travel and he always looked forward to getting away to his holiday home in France where he and his wife Kate would often be joined by family and friends. John was the most doting family man and always looked forward to spending time together with his family making precious memories.

John loved adventure, he lived a full and colourful life so to reflect this please wear something bright and colourful.

MESSAGES for the family of John David Taylor

Neil and Jacquie Stewart

Our love and deepest sympathies to Katy, Nathan, Tobias and their families. John was a special friend who lived life. We have fond memories of his parties and our visits to France where he always ensured everyone had a good time. We will miss “our skipper” and never forget our amazing sailing holiday in Greece. Lamb Kleftiko, Pina Coladas, buckets of gin and copious amounts of fun. In our thoughts often and always loved.

My love to you all is all I can give at this sad time. My heart goes out to you all. My wonderful friend, I will miss you. No one can say you didn’t enjoy life. I will miss seeing you in France which holds very special memories for me and our wonderful New Year get togethers. You will be so missed and the world will be a little bit duller without you in it. Love always Lorraine ???? ❤ ????

Rob & Jenny Robson

John was many things to many people, to us he was Capt. John T, a yachtsman, he loved it! We both needed a lottery win for the 60 footers! As he takes the wheel with his arm around his beloved Katy for the passage over the horizon, safe journey for the man whose space will take some filling. All our love Rob & Jenny xx

Steve and Jan

You’ve sailed on without us too soon, before our chance to imitate his Trojan course. We’ll think of you our skipper when masts ring from halyard slaps, fenders hang from rails. God speed, fair wind our friend, captain of our mythic voyage.

Paul & Glynis

Such a sad loss of our very dear friend John who has given us much joy and happiness over the years especially whilst on holiday in France & Spain. He will be forever in our hearts and always remembered.
