Joan Slynn

Peacefully on Friday 9th July 2021 following a short stay in hospital surrounded by her loving family, Joan aged 86 years, formerly of Rishton. The dearly loved wife of Robert (Bob), devoted mother of the late David, a much loved and treasured grandma of Andrew, Catherine and Abigail, cherished great-grandma of Joshua, Lucia, Eliza and Joey.

Joan will be sadly missed by her loving family and friends.

Joan spent her working life working with children for Lancashire County Council, with her naturally caring personality, Joan was very popular within her working role. She was the most doting grandma and great grandma and loyal friend to all she knew. Joan loved to travel with her husband Bob, together they have travelled across the globe making many special memories. An avid cricket fan, Joan was a regular face and former member at Rishton Cricket Club, Joan was also a member of Rishton and Great Harwood Soroptimist. Tragedy struck Joan’s family 24 years ago when she lost her dear son David and since then she has taken on the parent roll to her grandchildren.
