Joan passed away peacefully at Pennine View Care Home on the 21st August 2023 aged 91 years.

Wife of the late Ken, much loved auntie to Alison, Andrew, Elaine, Joanne and Steve, a dear great auntie to Laura, Emma and James, and cousin to Lis and Iris.  She was a good friend to many, especially Mick, Cath & Frank.

Joan started her lifelong career when she trained to become a nurse at Park Hospital in Trafford. She worked and studied hard, making her way up through the profession to become Chief Nursing Officer. Over the years she worked in Salford, Hyndburn and Rochdale. Joan was both intelligent and caring making her perfectly suited to her vocation, which she retired from at the age of 60.

In her spare time Joan loved cooking and baking and made some of the most amazing treats, she also knitted beautifully. In retirement, she enjoyed to socialise with her friends, playing bridge every Wednesday. Joan was very much a homebird, her home was always welcoming and always immaculately clean and tidy

Joan loved gadgets and liked to buy the latest thing, she would give any new baking, cleaning or technology device a go.

Joan was a lovely lady who will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
