Joan Gardner (Middleton)

Peacefully at her home on 6th August 2019, Joan aged 82 years of Rishton. The devoted wife of the late David, much loved and loving mum of Janet, Allan, Roy, Les and Graham, cherished nana and great-nana, dear sister of Frank, Margaret, Kathleen, Bob, Mary, Tony, Susan and Bill and a dear relative and friend to many.

Joan loved her home at Shearbrook Farm she was truly house proud and always kept the place immaculate and could often be found outside sweeping the yard. Joan and her late husband David shared a passion for Shire Horses and were well known throughout the UK in the horse community for their high breeding and showing standards, they always looked forward to attending the latest horse show to show off their magnificent Shire Horses and to catch up with their many friends.

Joan loved to natter and she spent many happy hours meeting with friends in local teas rooms for a cup of tea and a catch up and it always had to be loose tea, she just could not accept a cup of tea made with a teabag.

A devoted family lady who always looked forward to visits from her family, and they always looked forward to a treat of her legendary homemade trifle.

Joan will be sadly missed by all her family and friends.
