Joan Brown
Peacefully at Springhill Care Home surrounded by her loving family on 12th December 2023, Joan aged 84 years of Rishton. The devoted wife of the late Harry, much loved mum of Trevor and Andrea, dear sister of Dorothy, Ivy, George and the late Ann.
Joan began her working life as a machinist, working in local factories. Following meeting the love of her life Harry and starting her family Joan worked part time so she could raise her children, she combined the role of worker, housewife and mother perfectly. She was the most amazing mum to her children and would have done anything for them, she loved to spoil them, showering them with love and kindness. She was an avid bingo fan and a regular face at Gala along with her friend Frances, they would attend each day for the afternoon session and she was a whizz with the dabber and over the years, Joan had some good winnings which she would always share with her family. She enjoyed her holidays and for Joan the holiday began as soon as she arrived at the airport, she also enjoyed many trips to Ireland with her sister-in-law Irene.
