Joan Bond

Suddenly in hospital on 25th June 2022, Joan aged 80 years of Great Harwood. The devoted and much loved wife of David, loving mum of Gary, dear mother-in-law of Jackie, cherished grandma of Jennifer and her partner Cameron, William and great-grandma of Ophelia Lily.

Joan was born and raised in Great Harwood where she was a well known and loved face in the local community. She spent many years working as a machinist at Oxo where she was a well respected member of the working team, making many good friends along the way.  Joan was the most amazing cook and her meat pie held legendary status within the family. She was a life long member of St Bartholomew’s Church along with her husband David who she shared the most amazing 60 years of marriage with. Joan loved holidays and over the years she has travelled across the globe enjoying many trips to West Virginia visiting her pen friends Mary and Jim who also enjoyed many trips to the UK to visit Joan and David.
Most of all, Joan was a devoted family lady who adored spending time with her nearest and dearest.

Family flowers only please, donations are being received in memory of Joan on behalf of St Bartholomew’s Church. Please send donations to the funeral directors (cheques payable to ‘St Bartholomew’s and St John’s Church Great Harwood’) also a donation box will be available on the day.
