Jeff Marshall

Peacefully and with family at his bedside on Friday 23rd June 2023, Jeff Marshall aged 87 years, the cherished & devoted husband of the late Anne Marshall (nee Crook) for over 60 years. Much adored Dad of Joy and Gaye. Precious Pops of his grandchildren Robert, Adam, Rose, Samuel & Dominic and his great-grandchildren James, Jacob & Lily. Treasured brother, uncle, great uncle and godfather, friend to many & a true gentleman to all.

Jeff attended Accrington Grammar, but “left without any qualifications, but the one of self-discipline” (his words). 44 years later he gained an HND in Computing & Business studies. His family left Accrington in 1964 to live in Bury and then onto Bolton in 1971.

Jeff completed National Service and went to work for Holland Pies as a Van Salesman. He then progressed to Johnsons Wax, then McCain Frozen foods before commencing his extremely successful career with Ford Motor Company where he was employed for 23 years, retiring in 1992 from his role as Senior Business Manager.

Jeff and Anne had a wonderful retirement spending many happy times with their family at their static caravan in Silverdale. He also had a time-share in Spain where he and Anne thoroughly enjoyed sharing great times with friends and family. He also travelled all over the world with Anne and enjoyed a number of cruises. A lot of precious memories were made on all of his variety of wonderful holidays. He also loved to walk his dogs, listen to music and read the daily newspapers.

Jeff had a happy marriage with his wife Anne and they celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary in October 2020. They were planning more holidays, but sadly Anne died very suddenly of Pancreatic Cancer back in November 2020. Jeff then made the decision to move to Burnley from Bolton in 2021 to be nearer to his family.

He was a proud Freemason and was in his 49th year. At the time of his passing he was Worshipful Master of Lodge of Remembrance in Accrington, having also been WM of the Lodge of Confidence in 1986. He was a much loved and respected member of a number of other Lodges over the years too.

He leaves many happy memories and will be missed by all of his family and friends.
