Peacefully in hospital with her loving family by her side on 31st October 2021, Jean aged 65 years of Clayton-le-Moors. The loving and adored mum of Dawn, Brian, Simon and the late Clint, cherished nana of Kurt, Siobhan, Chloe, Jay, Theo and Elliott and great nana of Lilly, Ruby, Tommy, Ella and Madison.

Family was truly at the heart of Jeans life, she adored each and every one of her brood, always putting them first often leaving herself without. Jean’s home always had an open door policy and everyone was always welcome – as long as you made your own brew and of course one for Jean.  Her working life started at Elgin’s of Burnely as a sewing machinist before moving to Hamilton McBrides and later Wills Fabrics before starting her career in care for the elderly. With her naturally caring and giving personality, Jean was a natural at her work and a firm favourite with all those in her care, she was a well respected member of the care team at Wellfield and Henley House where Jean also qualified with her NVQ’s in care. At home Jean loved to relax watching the television whilst creating her latest knitted winter warmers.
